What do Volunteers Do?

1. Volunteers are the backbone of every successful AFGE mobilization campaign.

2. Strengthening AFGE requires the leadership and assistance provided by volunteers.

3. They help the union deliver its message and advance its agenda.

4. They build a constituency for the mobilization effort, and empower those they reach in that effort.

5. Volunteers provide AFGE with valuable resources to fill gaps in skills, experiences, and people power...the most effective movements/groups are those in which the functions and needs of the body are met by the skills and interests of the members.

6. They help create a sense of community.

7. AFGE volunteers are a part of, live in, and are concerned with issues that affect them at work and in their communities.
